Davis Academy Clubs Program

Our clubs program was established in 2024 with funding provided by the Rogers Educational Innovation Fund through UConn’s NEAG School of Education. Clubs take place 10-12 times per year during the school day to help students grow socially and academically.

The Backstory of our clubs program

Club Schedule

Students do not want to miss school on a club day! Joining elementary school clubs helps them develop crucial academic, social, and personal skills that go beyond the traditional classroom setting. These extracurricular activities promote teamwork, build confidence, improve academic performance, and foster a sense of belonging.

Club Offerings for Grades 3-5

Students in grades 3-5 (ages 8-10) are typically active, have developing motor skills, and are focused on foundational learning. Our club choices reflect their needs to move and develop a sense of self.

Club Offerings for Grades 6-8

Students in grades 6-8 (ages 11-13) experience a period of rapid social and emotional change, including increased independence, a desire for peer approval, and greater cognitive complexity. Club choices focus on helping them gain self-confidence in their changing bodies and develop bonds with their like-minded peers.
