Davis Academy has been the recipient of this award for the past two years.


Staff Awards

Several members of our staff has been recognized for their outstanding achievements:

  • In 2025, Dance Teacher Amber Richetelli won the NPHS T.A.P.S. award. This is for NHPS staff who go above and beyond to support our students and families and who exhibit a commitment to excellence in education.

  • In 2025, 5th grade Math and Science Teacher Lauren Dooley received the Curriculum Associates Extraordinary Educator award for creating a classroom environment that is as innovative, engaging and effective; fostering reflection, creativity, and inclusivity among her students.

  • Davis Magnet Resource Teacher, Victoria Raucci, was a recipient of the UConn Neag School of Education and Rogers Educational Innovation Award based on the proposal project, "Davis Academy for Arts & Design Innovation School Clubs Program." The award included $5,000 to support the implementation of our clubs, which were designed to boost attendance and promote student engagement.  

Student Awards

  • In 2025:

    • A grade 7 student won first place in the district's NHPS Bilingualism Contest.

    • A grade 4 student won second place and three grade 5 students won third place in the “Engineering and Design” category of the NHPS District Science Fair.

    • Three grade 4 students were semi finalists in the statewide CT Invention Convention.

    • A grade 8 student been selected from our ARTE & NHPS Student Art Show to be featured in the prestigious Gold Star Exhibit as part of the elite collection on display at the Yale University Art Gallery.

    • Nine students received the Seal of Biliteracy, which recognizes students who demonstrate proficiency in English and one other language.
